Join us in welcoming Brooke as the new Executive Director of Bairs Foundation. She started with the foundation in August of 2020 and oversees all operations, fundraising initiatives, partnerships, and finances for the organization.
Brooke has a diverse background with 15 years of experience in nonprofit work and marketing and communications roles. She started her career working as a producer in television news before transitioning into marketing and events. She spent the last five years as the Marketing & Events Director at Olmsted Center for Sight, now VIA, helping raise awareness and funds for the blind and visually impaired community in WNY. Brooke graduated from Oswego State University with a degree in broadcasting and communications. In her personal life, she and her husband, Sean, have three kids Shea, Easton and Cyrus. She enjoys spending time with her family and traveling to new places. We asked Brooke a few questions about her role at the foundation and her experience in the nonprofit world. Here’s what she had to say.
What led you to Bairs Foundation?
I was very interested in being able to work for a non-profit that not only works hard to raise funds to help plaintiffs in need- they also are able to work closely with plaintiffs and their lawyer to make sure they are getting the help they need during such a awful time in their lives.
What are your primary responsibilities as ED?
Oversees all operations, fundraising initiatives, partnerships, and finances for the organization.
What’s something unique/surprising about you?
I have run two half marathons, I worked as an intern for David Letterman Show my senior year of college, I have 3 kids that keep giving me gray hair and my dream is to take my family to Disney!
Tell us about your previous role/career path.
I started my career working as a producer in television news before transitioning into marketing and events. I spent the last 5 years as the Marketing & Events Director at Olmsted Center for Sight now VIA helping raise awareness and funds for the blind and visually impaired community in WNY. Prior to that I spent 7 years working as a marketing manager for a top ten mattress manufacturer doing trade shows, video production, designing marketing materials and public relations.
